Heroes + Heroines

For this task Liz gave us a list of about 20 artists/designers/illustrators/photographers/film makers and companies.to research on the internet.

Then we had to write a short profile on them, including did we like their work, date and place of birth,ambitions,people that had inspired them.

When i had finished that i had to pick one person who had impressed me.

I chose Kathleen Hale, Illustrator,Artist, Author,  when i read her story i admired the way she never gave up even with all the obstacles she had to over come, She was awarded the OBE in 1976.

Kathleen died 26 January 2000 at the grand old age of 101

My Very Own Web Site

 

Making my own web site was the best task for me, because i chose to make my site about my favourite singer who else but the lovely 

Daniel O’Donnell. I think Liz (my Teacher) and the rest of the class were  fedup of hearing his name by the time i had finished.

As i have been a fan of Daniels for over 20 years i have lots of information about him, to much to put on this site so i have put the important  things on

Juxtapositon

Then we had to do Juxtapositon We were given the choice to pick 3  from a list of 5  I chose Times Flies, Myth versus  Reality,  Seismic Shift,

We had to blend two pictures together telling a story (example)  Seismic Shift i used a photo of people on the beach enjoying themselves, then giant waves washing people into the sea and changing there lives forever! My second one Myth versus Reality, I did two separate pictures of children, one where all the  children are happy  the way the world likes to thinks they are and the other was reality of sad unhappy children and they are lots of these.

My last one Time Flies, I did a picture of clocks with wings on flying in the sky, and the other picture was women with nets trying to stop time from going so fast.

Dancing Letters

Our next assignment was Audio Keyframes,

Or as i like to call them (Dancing Letters)

We had to take our cameras and look for objects that we could use as letters of the alphabet.

My husband and myself  had a really nice day finding things that we could make letters from,it is surprising the places you can find them

Such as parts of building, childrens playgrounds,railing,household things, trees, and lots of other things.

The idea was to cut the letters out, fill them in and set to music. To do this we used programs called Illustrator, and After Effects,

As i have never used the programs before  i found it  very interestsing  Then we set the letters to  music using After Effects and things like time-lines, making the letters come dancing in one after another.Wow good well i think so

My Media Story/ Wire Work

Last year i started a Media Class it has been hard but i have enjoyed it very much.
Our teacher (Liz) has the patient of a saint,we are not a class of young students our ages range from young to old (thats me).She never lost her temper with us she was so calm and uncomplaining,Thanks Liz      Our first task was to make a shape from wire
I started by looking round the house and outside for something to make a shape as i am the worlds worse artist  i looked for something easy. In the end i picked my kitchen utensil container.  After a lot of twisting the wire this way then that way i had something that resembled what i was trying to make.

We then had to take photos of our work with different  back grounds, lighting, positions,

Unfortunately i haven’t any photos to show you on my flash drive.
